We provide recommendations, including resources, equipment and care options, to help the individual receiving care to function safely in the home. Our services are designed to ease the burdens and stresses for the person who already is a caregiver. We also help future caregivers "prepare to care" for their imminent role of caring for an aging parent or other loved one. RBACC helps in the following ways: Through the caregiver consultation, we’ll discuss the challenges of the individual and caregiver and help find solutions to those problems. An evaluation by a physical and/or occupational therapist will determine need for direct therapy. An evaluation through The Balance and Mobility Clinic of Columbus will determine your Balance Score, risk for a fall and provide preventative treatment. An evaluation by Home Modifications for Independence can help make the home safer and easier to function in. If appropriate, we’ll recommend you contact another healthcare practitioner–such as a visual specialist or neurologist.
